At Remainder (accessible from the Google Play Store), we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy outlines the types of information we process and how we protect your personal data when using the Remainder application.
🔒 Offline-First Architecture: Your privacy is our core priority. All your tasks, habits, hydration records, medication details, sleep schedules, and geofence locations are stored locally on your device. We do not operate external database servers to store or upload your private data.
1. Information Processed by the App
Because Remainder functions as an offline assistant, the data you input remains entirely within your local device environment. This includes:
- Tasks & Routines: Titles, dates, frequencies, and priority levels of your check-lists.
- Medication Records: Dosage schedules, frequency, and custom snoozing actions.
- Hydration Goals: Logged water quantities, intervals, and active hours.
- Habits & Streaks: Daily check-ins and progress indicators.
- Sleep Logs: Tracked sleep times and analysis records.
2. Device Permissions We Request
To deliver essential features, Remainder requires specific system permissions on your mobile device. These permissions are used exclusively to execute actions locally:
- Notifications & Exact Alarms: Used to trigger time-critical medication alerts, task reminders, and hydration prompts that run reliably, even when the device is in low-power (Doze) states.
- Location Access (Geofencing): To trigger task reminders when arriving at or leaving a specific location, the app uses system location services. Location coordinates are processed entirely on-device and are never transmitted.
- Background Processing: Required to keep alarms and timers accurate without battery drain.
3. Advertising & Analytics
To keep the core features of Remainder free, we integrate with third-party ad networks, primarily Google AdMob. These networks may collect and process device-specific indicators (such as IP addresses, Google Advertising IDs, and device models) to serve relevant banner or interstitial advertisements. 4. Third-Party Links
The app may contain links to other websites or services (e.g. app stores). If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that site. We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit, as we have no control over their content or policies.
5. Children's Privacy
Our app does not intentionally collect any personally identifiable information from children under 13. All input data stays local to the device. If you are a parent or guardian and are aware that your child has provided us with personal information (e.g., via support email), please contact us so we can take immediate action.
